Improve Your Memory

There are many books on the market that teach memory improvement techniques. Believe it or not, two Keys for College Success recommendations were written by a former NBA player.

Jerry Lucas is a member of the NBA Hall of Fame and author of several books chocked full of tips for improving your memory. His most recent is Learning How to Learn.

In 1974, Lucas co-authored the ageless Memory Book with Harry Lorraine. It is still available and a smart addition to a college student’s library.  I added it to my library more than three decades ago.  It gives some great mnemonic learning techniques.

This is a book I added to my personal library more than a decade ago. I highly recommend it. If you purchase it, pay special attention to the advice in the chapter entitled The Magic of Music. You may not like classical music, but I proved to myself that Baroque music playing softly in the background really did help me concentrate on what I was reading.
