Colleges and universities provide numerous services for their students. These include Counseling, Financial Aid, Tutoring and many more. Successful college students take advantage of these resources. Other students fail because they do not seek the assistance they need.

Why Don’t College Students Seek Help?

There are several reasons why college students do not seek help. Some of the common reasons are:

  1. students do not know what resources that are available;
  2. they think they do not need help;
  3. they are reluctant to seek help; and
  4. they do not take responsibility for their own success.

With each passing year, it appears that more and more college students are not taking charge of their education.  College professors, counselors, deans and others witness this all too frequently.  Why is that?
